Welcome to my to my little piece of the internet I am so glad that you have stopped by. This is your first step on your journey to that freedom lifestyle.
Are you ready to learn how to start a blog?
But not just any blog… a money making machine!
Sounds far-fetched but believe me, if you get your head in the game and work hard it is certainly possible.
If you have yet to make a buck online you are in the right place. On this page alone is the information needed to get you started.
Most blogs will put this behind an opt-in. Not me though, I want to share it with you.
If you do want to take it further, I have created this kickass masterclass. “Blog Your Way To 1K” it is 100% FREE. Click here or the image below to watch the masterclass.
Anyway enough chit chat.
Let’s get down to business and learn how to start a blog that makes money.
Note: There are some affiliate links on this page. If you buy through this link I will earn a small commission. This does not affect the price you will pay.
Step One: Find A Niche That Is Your Key To The Freedom Lifestyle
So before we get into the fun stuff we have to start with the important stuff.
A lot of new bloggers believe that they can be the next Huffington Post or Wirecutter. This is bullshit, sorry to be so brutal.
You need to drill down on your niche. When you do this you have a smaller market to prove yourself too. You can always expand once you start gaining an audience.
Another reason why a lot of new blogs fail is that the newbie blogger will chase the money. I hate to break it to you but you are going to hold off ordering that Rolex or Lambo.
Blogging takes time, just because a niche is competitive doesn’t mean that you will become rich from it. It is best to start with a niche that you are interested in for your first money making blog.
This will help you stay motivated when you are hustling. Ask yourself…
“Could I write 50 posts on this topic?”
If the answer is yes then this is one to consider. Here is a video that walks you through finding your niche…
Step Two: Find A Strong, Fast & Reliable Host Like Siteground
Now that you have a killer niche it is time to get our blog installed. For this example I use Siteground.
Personally, I have used a lot of hosts like Bluehost, Hostgator and Just Host. I just found that these were very general, they were ok but not as reliable or fast as I wanted.
So I asked around and Siteground was one host that came up time and time again. This very blog is hosted with Siteground!
I really like them because they are a WordPress host. They make sure that your blog runs efficiently and they manage the WordPress side of things.
When I recorded the video below I had never used this host. I am still in awe I literally had my first blog with them up in 10 mins.
Their customer support is second to none too. I had problems paying for the package. They don’t accept debit cards.
I simply started a live chat and they sent me a Paypal link and away I went.
A Note On Domain Names
Exact match domains are a thing of the past. Old SEO’s used to register domains that were basically the keyword they wanted to rank.
Nowadays Google likes brands so you should always strive to choose a name like “Joe’s Pizza House”, rather than “Pizza Oven Guide.”
Most web hosts will register your domain for you. This is your web address. Make it short and snappy so that people can remember it.
Here is the video that shows you how to install WordPress on Siteground. It also shows you how to setup your FREE SSL certificate (another reason to choose Siteground).
Step Three: Choose and Install A Decent WordPress Theme
Ok, it is time to pretty our website up a little. Now as the years go by the standard WordPress Theme is getting better.
But there are a lot better themes out there.
And they are not that expensive.
Do not spend all day browsing theme galleries. You want to get up and going in no time at all. Browsing beautiful galleries can easily rack up hundreds of wasted hours.
I have seen my fair share of ugly websites and a lot of these are successful ugly websites.
The best theme in my opinion is Divi Theme by Elegant Themes. It is serious value for money.
It’s only $89 and you get access to the whole Elegant Themes library.
The theme itself loads well with most decent web hosts. Elegant Themes have designed this with speed optimization in mind.
The biggest selling point is how easy it is to install and set up Divi on WordPress. Everything can be controlled with the click of a button.
That sexy site is really just around the corner.
Now I know that it might not be for everyone. If it isn’t then you have the other Elegant Themes, Theme Forest or you can search for a free theme.
Just remember you get what you pay for. Most free themes won’t have the same features as a paid theme.
Ok enough chat.
Here is a quick video that shows you how to find themes. Not only do I explain where to look I will walk you through installing the Divi Theme on WordPress.
